The Alageum Electric Group of Companies serves as a platinum partner of the national technology forum Digital Qazaqstan 2026 – one of the key platforms for discussing the development of innovation, artificial intelligence, and Kazakhstan’s digital economy. The company’s participation in the forum reflects its contribution to the development of energy infrastructure, which forms the foundation for modern digital technologies.
The rapid growth of artificial intelligence, cloud services, and data centers is making energy one of the core pillars of the digital economy. Behind every technological platform, server cluster, or digital service lies a well-developed energy infrastructure that ensures stable power supply.
In Kazakhstan, the development of such infrastructure is supported by enterprises in the energy and electrical engineering sectors. Among them is the Alageum Electric Group, which объединяет (brings together) manufacturing enterprises and companies implementing energy projects.
Today, Alageum Electric includes more than 30 enterprises operating in equipment design and production, construction of energy facilities, and their maintenance.
The company’s production infrastructure includes 14 operating plants, engineering centers, and service companies. The group employs over 4,500 specialists, with service centers in all regional capitals of Kazakhstan, while its international presence is supported by representative offices in Shanghai and CIS countries.
Production of Electrical Equipment
One of the group’s key enterprises is the Kentau Transformer Plant – one of the largest electrical engineering manufacturers in the country with more than 65 years of history.
Today, the plant produces power and energy-efficient transformers, as well as complete transformer substations and high-voltage switchgear units with voltage levels ranging from 6 to 110 kV, used in energy infrastructure and industrial facilities.
The plant’s engineers have developed a line of energy-efficient distribution transformers using modern technologies and materials. These solutions help reduce technical losses in distribution networks and improve the efficiency of power supply.
The plant’s production capacity reaches up to 13,000 transformers per year. Approximately 700 specialists work at the facility, and its products are supplied both domestically and for export.
The development of high-tech manufacturing within the company’s structure is also linked to the launch of the Asia Trafo plant, which began operations in 2019. The enterprise produces power transformers and shunt reactors with capacities of 25–500 MVA and voltage classes of 110–500 kV.
This is the only facility of its kind in Kazakhstan producing ultra-high-voltage equipment. The launch of the plant marked an important milestone in the development of the country’s power engineering industry.
Today, the plant’s capacity is about 150 transformers per year, and it employs around 300 people.
The Alageum Electric structure also includes the Uralsk Transformer Plant and the Petropavlovsk Electrical Engineering Plant, which specialize in the production of distribution transformers with voltage levels of 6–35 kV. These facilities are equipped with modern automated production lines and annually produce thousands of units of electrical equipment, a significant share of which is exported.
Energy Solutions for Technological Projects
In addition to industrial manufacturing, Alageum Electric participates in projects for the construction and modernization of energy infrastructure.
The group includes the company «Elektromontazh» which performs electrical installation works on projects of varying complexity. Over the years, the company has been involved in the construction and modernization of more than 100 substations with voltage levels exceeding 110 kV.
Alageum Electric enterprises produce a wide range of electrical equipment, including energy-efficient transformers, reactors, complete transformer substations, and switchgear systems.
These production capabilities make it possible to meet the needs of the energy sector with equipment across a voltage range from 10 to 500 kV – from distribution networks to large-scale energy facilities.
Against the backdrop of growing data centers and digital infrastructure, the importance of such solutions continues to increase. A reliable energy foundation is becoming one of the key factors for the stable operation of technological platforms, cloud services, and industrial digital systems.
Development of Engineering Competencies
The company also places strong emphasis on training specialists for the energy sector and developing engineering competencies.
A polytechnic college operates in the city of Kentau under a dual education system. More than 800 students study there in fields such as power supply, automation, and control systems. A significant number of graduates go on to work in the industry.
In addition, the company has established the endowment fund «Bilim, Gylym, Technology» Its resources are directed toward supporting students and young scientists, advancing research, and funding technological projects.
The development of production capacity, technological solutions, and educational initiatives demonstrates how industrial companies contribute to building the infrastructural foundation for the modernization of the energy sector and the development of Kazakhstan’s digital economy.
